5/16-17, MT High School Eastern AA Divisional Track Meet at Billings Skyview. For the first time EVER, the Eastern AA Divisional track meet will be held at Billings Skyview H. S.  This meet determines which h.s. track athletes will qualify for the state meet in Helena the following weekend.  Come out and support your local high school runners, jumpers, and throwers.  Whether your team is West, Senior, or Skyview, come out and cheer these kids on.

Trail Runs benefiting Youth Homes in Missoula.  The Double Dip races start and finish at the Oval on the U of M campus.  Race day registration starts at 11:00 am.  The One Dip Course is 4.6 miles long and climbs up M trail, along the fire road and down to the Oval on the UM campus.
The Epic Two Dip Trail Run is 12.5 miles long, leaving the Oval on the UM campus and climbing up the trail to the "M" above the University. New this year is a 5K event on the Kim Williams Trail (a flat trail).  Solos or relay teams of up to 4 people.  Entry fees are waived for individuals that participate in the event pledge drive.

7/4, Make It Hurt On the Dirt, Off-road Duathlon, Homestake Lodge.  The Hurt On the Dirt Duathlon is back for 2008 and is being hosted by Homestake Lodge on Homestake Pass near Butte, MT.  Racers may either compete as individuals or in teams.  There are classes for adults and two junior categories. After the event there will be a barbecue, beverages, and music.  Adult distances are 9 miles/bike, and 4 miles/run.  The Under 10 Junior Course is 2 miles/bike, and 1 mile/run, the under 14 Junior Course is 4 miles/bike and 2 miles/run.  Terrain is a combination of logging roads, trails, and single track suitable for most riders and runners.  Adult Individual - $30.00, Adult Relay - $35.00, Youth - $12.50, additional barbecue ticket $7.50 (1 bbq ticket included with race entry).  Juniors start at 9:00 AM and Adults start immediately following the Junior finish.Register on Active.com at the following link, http://www.active.com/event_detail.cfm?event_id=1553836.  Race day registration is available and it is the same price. 8/2 Bozeman, MT, 29th FIRST SECURITY BOZEMAN CLASSIC.  Big Sky Wind Drinkers, 5 and 10 K, The 10 K will start at 7:15 am and the 5 K at 7:25. It is competitive with prize money for the the first open and masters male and female in each event. This year the 10K race will be the RRCA Montana State Championship. 8/2, HURL Elkhorn 50mile and 50km Endurance Runs.  Montana City, presented by the Helena Running Club and the Helena Ultra Runners League (HURL).  Scenic, challenging loop courses, mostly on single track trails with some jeep and dirt Forest Service road. 100% pavement free. Lung bursting elevation gain with numerous small stream crossings. Well stocked aid stations are provided along the course, as well as drop bag service.  Generous cut off times. Entry fees: 50 Mile - $75.00 ($100 after July 19); 50K - $60 ($80 after July 19). 9/21, Fourth Annual Two Bear MarathonWhitefish, Start time: 7:30 AM Course: 26.2 miles of trail and pavement through one of the most beautiful areas of NW Montana. 9/28, Homestake Pass 5 Miler, Trail Run, Homestake Lodge.  This is the second annual trail run on Homestake Lodge’s trail system.  The courses will be on the x-c ski trails.  They will wind through woods, meadows and include some steep ascents/descents.  There will also be a 1 Mile Kids Race (12 and Under).  Juniors start at 9:30 AM and Adults start immediately following the Junior finish.  Cash Awards will be given to 1st-2nd-3rd Place in the overall Women's and Men's Category. 1st Place $125.-, 2nd Place $75.-, 3rd place $50.  After the race there will be a Barbecue Feed. Homestake Lodge will provide the food and beverages. 1/27, “all-comers” indoor track meet, Bozeman, Brick Breeden Field House.  Field events will begin at 11:00 A.M. with track events starting at 12:00 P.M. Doors open at 9:00 A.M.  Medals are awarded to the top five finishers in each age division with hats, T-shirts, and USATF apparel available. High school athletes may enter an unlimited number of events. Maximum of three events for youth athletes, and not more than four events for open and masters. Entry fee of $10.00/athlete should be postmarked by no later than Saturday, January 19th with a $5 late fee assessed for entries received after Wednesday, January 23rd.
